Payment Cloud Technologies Africa Launch Event
April 10, 2017
After two successful launch events in Johannesburg and Cape Town, PCT Africa are set to drive financial inclusion across the African continent, focusing primarily on South Africa. As highlighted by Ian Clowes, CEO PCT, there have been “fundamental changes” in the banking industry in the past 3-5 years, allowing businesses to serve millions of adults residing in underserved markets and geographies, globally. Digitalisation has broken down and removed barriers to entry, allowing those adults to benefit from the financial services challenger banks are readily offering.
PCT’s suite of financial service solutions are doing just that, serving those in once unreachable locations, with the financial services societies take for granted. PCT Africa’s banking-lite solution, bank.VISION, is at work serving consumers across, Europe, Asia and America, with digital and in-branching banking, secure mobile payments and card payment services.
Following Ian’s comments on the changes in the banking landscape witnessed in the past few years, Keith Richbell, COO PCT, went on the note Africa’s amazing track record for embracing new financial services innovators. . Pointing to the rise of Capitec Bank from microlending business in 2001 to ‘best bank in the world’ according to The Lafferty Group in 2016, Keith addressed the concerns of investors on whether South Africa is ready for the next wave of change.
