Payment Cloud Technologies Support The Trussell Trust
May 2, 2017
Our ongoing commitment to support a different charity every month continues, this month we’re supporting The Trussell Trust, chosen by Lucy Mounter, Executive Assistant & Client Manager.
About the Trust
Their vision – to end hunger and poverty across the UK.
The Trussell Trust aims to end hunger and poverty across the UK by bringing communities together. The Trust is committed to creating a community built on diversity, tolerance, cooperation and mutual respect.
“Thirteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK, with individuals going hungry every day for a range of reasons, from benefit delays to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.
The Trussell Trust’s 400-strong network of foodbanks provides a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. In 2015/16, we gave 1,109,309 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.
We recognise that stopping hunger is about More Than Food, which is why we’re working with foodbanks to provide a range of new services like money advice and Fuel Banks, helping people to break the cycle of poverty (www.trusselltrust.org/what-we-do/).”
What the contribution from PCT & others means
Donations help transform lives. PCT’s donation will go towards supporting the Trussell Trust in stopping hunger across the UK. A 2012 study by Netmums found that one in five mothers would regularly miss out on meals as to be able to save their children from going hungry. Although PCT have decided to financially support the Trust, there are alternative ways to give, donate food, goods or even your time, for more information on supporting the charity, click here.
What the contribution means to Lucy
Lucy Mounter, PCT “Contributing to Trussell Trust means we can bring relief to people or families suffering across our communities today. We’re not often faced with the reality that people are going hungry on a regular basis, and because of this we forget that these things are going on around us. I hope that this contribution made by PCT on my behalf makes a real different to an individual of family. This is something that I’m really passionate about and recommend getting involved in some capacity to help the charity drive change across the UK.”
