Payment Cloud Technologies beats Lloyds Bank to Best Online Banking at UK Financial Services Experiences Awards 2017July 14, 2017
London, UK. 14th July 2017 – Payment Cloud Technologies (PCT), the London-based FinTech business, is delighted to have seen off competition from Lloyds Bank to win Best Use of Technology in Online Banking at the industry-renowned UK Financial Services Experiences Awards (UKFX) last night.
The awards, which celebrate excellence in customer experience by leading organisations, teams and individuals in the financial sector, recognised PCT’s strategic partnership with Change Account that has already delivered over 20,000 inclusive transactional accounts to previously underserved and unbanked customers across the UK.
Powered by PCT’s innovative cloud-based digital banking platform bank.VISION, Change Account was launched in 2015 to reform access to financial services and drive positive economic and social change for those who have traditionally been denied access to payment services by the major banks.
Ian Clowes, CEO, Payment Cloud Technologies, said: ‘’One of the key drivers behind our re-brand from Payment Card Technologies to Payment Cloud Technologies in November was the unacceptable number of unbanked customers across the UK. By harnessing the power of the cloud with our strategic partner Change Account, together we have opened up access to financial services for this demographic and many more underserved customers nationwide. We are delighted that this early success has been recognised by one of the UK’s leading financial services awards.’’
Change Account provides customers with all the benefits of a standard account, including direct debits and a guaranteed prepaid Mastercard debit card. It includes unique, innovative and secure budgeting tools, including digital wallets that allow for subdivision of spending into bills, rent, and much more. Unlike many high street banks, customers can apply despite bankruptcy or a bad credit history.
Success at the UKFX awards comes during a momentous period for PCT. The company has recently strengthened its partnership with global information technology company Unisys to deliver secure digital banking services anytime, anywhere. It also hosted the inaugural PCT in Action, a well-attended networking and thought-leadership event featuring speakers from Microsoft and BJSS, on Tuesday 11th July.
